Families in Art

November 25, 2015 - February 28, 2016

Exhibition Overview

John Costigan, Group of Figures, 1934, 47.162

One thing we all have in common is family. Whether large or small, near or far, dear or distant, our families and familial relationships influence who we are. Siblings and cousins are often our first friends; parents and grandparents are frequently the first people we love.

This exhibition features images of family at work and play, as well as quiet depictions of the complexities of those unique human connections.
