• Café Conversations: Black Resistance

    Feb 21st, 2018
    6:00pm - 8:00pm
Memphis Brooks Museum of Art | Free.

This special Café Conversation, programmed by The Collective (The CLTV), will inspire thought, action, and change.

The event will begin with poetry from Nubia Yasin one of The CLTV’s brilliant poets, presented in response to the Withers photographs on exhibition and a performance by singer Tia Henderson. Participants then move to the Café Conversation where moderator Doc Dillard will talk through three to four issues facing the Black community in Memphis. The participants will break into small groups, and each group will be assigned one of the issues discussed to create short, mid, and long-term responses to their issue. The evening will end with an informal presentation of their findings.

In partnership with The Collective (The CLTV)
